Dr. Bernstein graduated University of Toronto Medical School in 1968 and completed his residency in OB/GYN at University of Toronto in 1975. Since then he has practiced in General OB/GYN at Mount Sinai Hospital.
He has held the positions of Head Division General OB/GYN and was the Postgrad Resident Coordinator for 7 years.
Dr. Bernstein has had long history of teaching and has won many teaching awards including the Excellence in postgraduate medical education award from the University of Toronto.
Appointed to the rank of professor in 2011.
Finally-he was the president of SOGC in the 90’s and was primarily responsible of Shirley Rance routine her role in the Society.
Married to 51 plus years- 3 married children/4 granddaughters/4 grandsons.
